FAQs
Typically, it takes about 2 months for your book to be enabled for distribution. That timeline begins when we enter the Interior Production stage of your project.
A variety of things could impact this timeline including how long the review and approval process by you during the Interior Production and Cover Design stages takes and if revisions to the Printed Proof are requested.
Once we enable a book for distribution, it can take 2 to 6 weeks for all of your book information, such as the cover and book description, to appear on Amazon and Barnes & Noble’s sites.
For paperback editions, it takes abut 5 business days to print and we estimate another 5 to 7 days for delivery. A total of about 2 weeks.
For hardcover editions, it takes about 10 business days to print and we estimate another 5 to 7 days for delivery. A total of about 3 weeks.
Since we use Ingram to print and distribute all of our authors’ books, the length of time is dictated by them. COVID-19 has impacted the sourcing of materials for their warehouses and has periodically increased printing times. Should they ever be impacted and the timeframe extended, we will always let you know when you place your order.
Our royalty rates are as follows:
- 20% for all print editions sold (Paperback and Hardcover)
- 70% for all Kindle editions sold when the retail price is between $2.99 and $9.99
- 30% for all Kindle editions sold when the retail is outside of the above price range
- 50% for all Nook editions sold
Royalty checks are paid four times a year in April, July, October, and January at the close of each quarter (Jan-Mar; April-June; July-Sept; Oct-Dec). Royalties are paid when cumulative royalties earned exceed $25.
Royalty payments are sent via a check via the US postal system.
Royalties are not paid on wholesale orders.
Unfortunately, no. This practice used by online booksellers and retailers is called “virtual stock,” and it’s a marketing technique to generate sales. Your book is available through Print-On-Demand publishing, meaning that it’s never printed unless it’s been ordered and paid for. “Virtual stock” does not equate to book sales.
